Fish Antibiotics for Aquarium Bacterial Infections
Which fish antibiotic do you need? The right one depends on the bacteria, not the brand name. Most aquarium infections are gram-negative. The germs behind dropsy, popeye, and ulcers. So vets often start with a gram-negative–active drug. The less common gram-positive infections call for different drugs. Amoxicillin (Fish Mox) is the popular pick, but it’s gram-positive–first, so it’s usually not the best place to start.

For gram-negative infections
